Our client is a listed N.American MNC and a leading global supplier of life sciences tools. They deal in bioanalytical measurement instruments and technology solutions. They have operations in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region and invite a competent and proactive individual to join their organization as:
Financial/General Accountant
(Singapore)
Circa: S$ 4,000 – 5,000 p.m.
Description:
- Ensure general accounting and financial reporting in line with USA General Accepted Accounting Principles and related laws and regulations.
- Responsible for the General Ledger. In particular review and provide all journal entries, accrual for recurring and non-recurring expenses on monthly basis prior to and during month-end close.
- Perform bi-monthly and monthly bank reconciliation. Responsible for cash and treasury management. In particular, cashflow forecast, foreign exchange reports and intercompany netting.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of GST payments and reporting. Work closely with AP department, Logistics, Shipping and forwarders to enable the GST reconciliation.
- Prepare and submit quarterly GST returns to IRAS.
- Responsible to maintain and reconciliation general ledger to subledger. Coordinate and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation.
- Coordinate with AP department on suppliers’ payment and ensure timeliness of payment process.
- Review and prepare weekly ad-hoc manual payment requisitions.
- Assist in coordinating and reparation of statutory and taxation schedules and reporting for the annual audit and SOX audit.
- Work closely with Supply Chain team to perform and coordinate the revenue recognition exercise.
- Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/Processes for the tasks performed and ensure continuous efficiency improvement.
- Assist in ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley legislation i.e. demonstrating an auditable system of controls sufficient to guarantee integrity of financial results.
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
- At least 4-5 years of hands-on general accounting experience in a dynamic MNC environment
- Good working knowledge of general accounting in Singapore
- Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance
- Preferably with Oracle accounting application experience
