Finance Manager- (Insurance Background)
Job Duties:
- Prepare and deliver both internal and external financial reports as required. Responsible for the delivery of all financial and related information and returns, including MAS returns, GST returns, corporate tax returns etc.
- Oversee the receipt of premium and disbursement of funds for claims, office expenses etc. Monitor the actual results vs budget. Monitor cashflow for operational needs.
- Maintain the General Ledger of the branch and review all necessary reconciliations between main ledger, sub-ledger and administration system to ensure that GL is fairly stated
- Deliver information required by Head Office for external reporting
- Assist in Risk Management activitiesLiaise with external auditors and other external consultants (e.g. tax) for completion of accounts and tax returns.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
- More than 5 years of experience in the financial and accounting aspects of life insurance/reinsurance
- Familiar with Asian insurance/reinsurance markets
- Proficient in English
- Strong financial background and computer literate
- Experience with US-GAAP and Singapore statutory reporting bases
- Understanding of GST and corporate tax
- Strong sense of internal controls and procedures
