Tax Accountant

Responsibilities:
This is a permanent full-time position in the Finance Department reporting to the Regional Financial Controller for commencement in January or February 2009.
- Key tasks include monitoring, collating information for the preparation and submission of tax returns, tax computations, including withholding tax compliance for all Operating Units in Asia.
- Must be able to perform on-going review of tax compliance processes to ensure appropriate and timely accounting for taxes, timely identification of tax risks and opportunities.
- Required to do tax health checks and assist in the handling of tax queries where appropriate and assist in general tax advice (corporate & individual income taxes), project execution, tax research work and establish best practices.
- Support the Group businesses in the full spectrum of tax and other ad-hoc activities.
- Professional qualification, Degree or Diploma in Accounting
- At least 3 – 5 years auditory and taxation experience with medium to large accounting firm, corporation or combination of both
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Meticulous and able to multitask
- Strong computer skills in MS Excel and Word, working knowledge of Peoplesoft/ Oracle would be a plus
- Proficient in English and able to communicate effectively
- Knowledge of written and spoken Malay, Mandarin or Bahasa Indonesia is an added advantage to liase with the regional offices
