Accounts Assistant     Post Date: 01 Sep 09

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Monthly Closing

1. check the accuracy of all sub-ledgers
2. generate all sub-ledgers reports
3. provide analysis where necessary

• General Ledger
  

1. check and verify all monthly journal entries
2. prepare all necessary balance sheet schedules for audit and tax purposes

• Accounts Receivable and Credit Control
  

1. all functions related to AR and Credit Control

• Quarterly GST Return
  

1. check and verify the accuracy of input tax
2. prepare and submit the GST return

• Lotus Notes Exchange Rate Database
  

1. maintain and input exchange rates in database

• Check and verify staff claims and all payables are in line with company policies
• Comply, verify, attend and follow up on auditors’ requirements and issues
• Other duties which may be assigned from time to time

 Qualification & Experience Required:

• Diploma / GCE ‘A’ or ‘O’ Level with knowledge in accounting principles.
• Ability to liaise and interact with internal & external customers.
• Analytical mind and able to focus on detail work and ask questions when in doubt
• Ability to highlight issues and suggest improvements pertaining to area of responsibility.
• Ability to work independently and has good communication skill.
• Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Excel, and good knowledge in Accounting software
